About The Founder

CSM Long was born in Galveston, Texas on April 17, 1980. He graduated from Texas City High School in Texas City, Texas in 1998.

 

CSM Long entered into military service at Fort Knox, Kentucky in September 1998 where he attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT), upon completion of OSUT he was awarded the MOS 19D, Cavalry Scout.

 

CSM Long's duty stations include E Troop 1st CAV Sep, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; Comanche 4/7 CAV, Camp Garry Owen, South Korea; HHC 1st ID, Wurzburg, Germany; HHT 2/16 CAV, Fort Knox, Kentucky; B Troop 5/4 CAV, Fort Riley, Kansas; Comanche 4/7 CAV and HHC BDE 1ABCT, Camp Hovey, South Korea; B HHBN, Camp Red Cloud, South Korea. He’s served as a 1SG in A 3/47 IN, Fort Benning, Georgia, D 1-81 AR, Fort Benning, Georgia, A Co 1-81 AR, and HHC BDE 194th AR BDE, Fort Benning, Georgia. CSM Long served as a Senior Cavalry OC/T and Operations Sergeant for 1-305th IN, Camp Shelby, Mississippi; attended Sergeant’s Major Academy (2016-2017); served as the Operations Sergeant Major for 1-6 IN, Fort Bliss, Texas; served as the Chief Military Science Instructor for Marion Military Institute (ROTC) in Marion, Alabama. He has deployed to Iraq in support of OIF 03-04, OIF 08-09, Kuwait, Iraq and Jordan for OIR/ORR 17-18. His duty positions have consisted of Driver, Gunner, Ops Assistant, G3 Plans NCOIC, Retention NCO, Instructor/Writer, Senior Training Management NCO, Resilience Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, OC/T, Operations Sergeant Major, College ROTC Cadre. He has performed duties as a Unit Prevention Leader (UPL), Equal Opportunity Leader (EOL), Resilience Trainer, SHARP NCO, and Army Recruiter.

 

CSM Long's accomplishments include The Order of St. George Medallion, The Order of St Maurice Medallion, and Excellence in Armor awardee. He is also the recipient of the Commandant's List during WLC, SLC, and Battle Staff Course. He received the Physical Fitness Award for WLC, ALC, and SLC. He also received the Bronze Schutzenschnur qualification Medal while stationed in Germany (2005). CSM Long won 1st Brigade Cadet Command Instructor of the Year (2019) and recognized as the National Association for The Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Roy Wilkins Renown Service Award recipient (2019). He is a published author and certified Life Coach. CSM Long is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of his Nonprofit Organization “Supporting Our Veterans and Mentoring Our Youth” servicing the Fort Benning, Georgia community.  

    

CSM Long's awards and decorations include the BSM (1OLC), MSM (4OLC), ARCOM (4OLC), AAM (7OLC), AGCM (7th award), NDSM (with BS), Iraqi Campaign Medal (4CS), GWOT-S, Korean Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5), Military Volunteer Service Medal (MOVSM), Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon (6).

CSM Long’s civilian education includes Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), (2018) a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice (2014), Associate’s Degree in Applied Science (2013 and 2019), from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) and Central Texas College (CTC). Currently pursuing a Master’s in Higher Education Administration (M-HEA) from the University of Louisville (UofL).

 

CSM Long earned his Barber’s license in 2014. His military education includes the Warrior Leader Course (WLC), Advanced Leader Course (ALC), Senior Leader Course (SLC), Commanders and First Sergeant Course, USASMA Class 67, Battalion Pre-Command Course, Army Recruiter Course, Equal Opportunity Leader (EOL), Master Resilience Course (MRT) & Level 2 Facilitator Course, Basic Instructor Course, Air Assault Course, Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Prevention program (SHARP), Short Range Marksmanship Course, Cavalry Leaders Course, Battle Staff, Observer Controller/Training OC/T, Common Faculty and Development Instructor Course, Military History Course, Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Pre-Command Course, Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Battalion (BN) Development Program Course, and Master Educator Course.

CSM Long serves as 1-4 Infantry (OPFOR), Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Hohenfels, Germany (JMRC). CSM Long is currently married and has 2  children.
